First thieves, just darkness, no memories, just a vague view of the world. But the world isn't there, just a big maze with no way out. This is was Thomas experiences as a "greenie." In the Glade a group of boys are sent from who-knows-where. But things takes a bad turn when a girl arrives with a note saying that she is the last one ever.
